Rainbow Pre-School   

Ages 2 ½- 5 ½ years

Hours: Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 12.00 mid-day

Children may be dropped off from 8.45 am, last collection being 12.15 pm.

A formulated, continually developing, relevant, and stimulating, age-appropriate curriculum is in place, recognising the fact that all children are individual in their needs. All staff at Rainbow acknowledge the importance of having personal commitment in their role as carers and teachers, in order to provide the highest quality of care and education, equipping the children with opportunities to develop their skills.

Pre-School Structure

• Play Room
• Art Room
• Montessori Room
• Music & Movement / Story & Drama Room

Children are divided into 4 groups, maximum number of 9 children being in each group. They then rotate around the rooms, completing a full and varied, stimulating curriculum.

• Mid-morning snack is provided, or children may opt to bring their own.
• Toilets are at child level and there are also facilities to accommodate children who are not fully toilet trained.
• A large and secure outside area is provided, with a variety of equipment for climbing and playing.

E.C.C.E. GOVERNMENT PRE-SCHOOL SCHEME

Rainbow Pre-School is registered for the above scheme, which will provide a free Pre-School year for children prior to enrolling in National School. Commencing in January 2010, children must have been born between 1st March 2005 and 30th June 2006.

To avail of the year in September 2010, children must have been born between 1st March 2006 and 30th June 2007.
